Leaving this site for an app: what happens

You are about to tap a button, and want to know where it takes you.

Two friends enjoying a conversation at a garden table.

When you tap an app button on this site, you leave us and move to a separate product with its own makers and its own rules. We are an independent editorial team and we do not run the app.

Knowing that makes the next step feel clearer, and puts you in charge of it.

What changes when I tap the button?

You usually go to an app store listing first. That page belongs to the store and to the app’s provider.

From that point, what is collected about you is described by the provider’s own privacy policy, not by ours. Read it before you install if you care about that.

Is this website or the app answering me?

Ask this each time you read something online. There are three kinds of source, and they are not the same.

  • Published content: written once, the same for every reader. Our guides are like this.
  • An automated reply: produced by software in answer to what you type.
  • A person’s advice: given by a named person, such as a doctor or counsellor.

Our guides are published content. They are for everyday wellbeing and are not clinical care. We do not claim that any particular app uses automated answers, because we cannot verify that for a product we do not run. Check the listing and the provider’s own pages.

Try this: a three-question check before you tap

Do it on your phone while you wait for the LRT.

  1. Who made the product, and is their name clear on the listing?
  2. Does it say whether replies are published, automated or from a person?
  3. What does it ask me to enter, and do I need to?

If you cannot answer one of these, pause and look further. Our guide on checking an official app listing shows where.

What should stay private?

Keep your IC number, bank details, passwords and medical history to yourself. Keep other people’s details out too, such as a child’s school or a parent’s illness.

A resource for everyday calm does not need any of them. If it asks, stop and read the privacy policy first. Our tools run in your browser, and saving a resource without saving private notes shows how to keep personal writing apart.

What if an automated reply feels like advice?

Treat it as information only. It is not a doctor, a counsellor or official support, and it cannot see your whole situation.

If you feel distressed, or something in your life is heavy, please reach a real person. Our support page and the guide on finding suitable support list where to start.

Where to go next

For the app’s own description, see what the official sources describe. To check the language it offers, read how a translated website differs from a translated app. Everything sits in our accessibility and digital confidence guides.

If you decide you want to, Sadhguru’s free 7-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is an optional thing to try, and you can read the listing first at your own pace.

Common questions

Who runs the app I am sent to?

The app is made by its own provider, not by us. We are an independent editorial team. Once you leave this site, the store listing and the app's own privacy policy describe what that provider does. Read those, not our page, for the app's practices.

Does this site know what I do in the app?

No. What you do inside an app is between you and that app. We cannot see it. The reverse is also true: the app's provider has its own rules, and they are separate from the notes you type into our tools.

How do I tell if an answer is automated or from a person?

Look for a label. Published content is written once and read by everyone. An automated reply responds to what you type. A person's advice is signed by a named, qualified individual. If a product does not say which it is, treat it as unverified.

What should I keep private in an online resource?

Keep private your IC number, bank details, passwords, medical history and anything about other people. A simple resource for everyday calm does not need those. If a product asks for them, stop and read its privacy policy first.

When you are ready, Sadhguru's free 7-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is an optional step, and you can read the listing first at your own pace.
