Complete a planner using only a keyboard
A mouse or touchscreen is not always comfortable, and a planner should still work.

You can fill in a Blissful planner using only a keyboard. Tab moves you from one box to the next, Enter or Space presses a button, and the arrow keys change a choice.
This helps if a mouse is tiring, if a touchpad is fiddly, or if you simply type faster than you tap.
Which keys do I need?
Five keys do most of the work. Learn these and you can reach everything on a planner page.
- Tab: move to the next box, button or link.
- Shift and Tab together: move back one.
- Enter: press a button or follow a link.
- Space: press a button, or tick a box.
- Arrow keys: change a choice in a group, or move through a list.
Typing in a text box works as it always does. Press Tab when you are finished to move on.
How do I fill in a planner step by step?
The same pattern works on any planner. We will use the practice cue planner as the example.
- Open the planner page and press Tab once to start at the top.
- Press Tab until the outline reaches the first box. Type your answer.
- Press Tab to reach the next box. Repeat for each one.
- For a group of choices, Tab into the group, then use the arrow keys to pick one.
- Tab to the button that creates or updates your plan, and press Enter.
- Keep pressing Tab to find the Copy and Print buttons that appear with your result.
Take your time. Nothing times out while you think.
How do I see where I am?
The control you are on is shown with an outline. It may be a coloured line around a box or button.
If you lose your place, press Tab once and watch where the outline appears. Zoom in if the line is hard to see. Our guide to larger text and print options shows how.
What if I tab past something by mistake?
Hold Shift and press Tab to go back one step. You can repeat it until you are back where you want to be. Nothing is lost by going back, and your typed words stay where you put them.
How do I get my plan out when I am finished?
Tab to Copy as text if you want to paste the plan into a note or a message. Tab to Print if you want paper. Press Enter on either one.
For a sheet you will keep, press Ctrl and P (Cmd and P on a Mac) to open the print window. If the plan is long and feels too much, try the one-step task view so you see one step at a time.
Can I do this on a phone with a keyboard?
Yes. A Bluetooth keyboard connected to a phone or tablet uses the same keys. Without one, use the Next or Go key on the on-screen keyboard to jump between boxes.
What if I am typing and my hands tire quickly?
Use shorter answers. A planner works with a few words, not full sentences. Take a break between steps and shake out your hands.
If a hand, wrist or arm hurts, it is fine to stop, and a doctor or physiotherapist is a good person to ask. Our support page lists where to start for wider concerns.
A routine to try this week
Pick one planner and complete it once with the keyboard alone. Note which step felt slow, and come back to this page for the key you forgot.
When the plan is done, take a moment before the next task. Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is one optional way to pause, and the planner works fine without it.

Common questions
Which keys do I need to use a planner?
Five cover almost everything: Tab moves forward, Shift with Tab moves back, Enter or Space presses a button, and the arrow keys change a choice in a group or list. Typing works as normal in any text box.
How do I know where I am on the page?
The control you are on shows a visible outline. If you lose it, press Tab once and look for the outline to appear. Zooming in with your browser makes the outline easier to see.
Can I use a keyboard on a phone or tablet?
Yes, if you connect a Bluetooth keyboard. Tab and Enter behave the same way. Without one, the on-screen keyboard still lets you move between boxes using the Next or Go key.
Something does not respond to the keyboard. What should I do?
Please tell us the page name, your browser and which control did not respond. A specific report helps us fix it. In the meantime, try another browser or the printable tracker, which can be filled in by hand.

After the plan is done, a short guided sit is a calm way to close the screen, and it can be started with a keyboard or a tap.
