Audio language

What if the app is not in my language?

The voice is not in the language you think in, and that is a fair worry.

A person walking along a shaded residential path.

The Malaysian App Store listing shows English in its languages field, and the version notes name some added languages1. They do not say which languages have a spoken voice. If your preferred audio language is missing or unknown, you still have good choices, and none of them needs the app.

What is confirmed about languages?

The App Store version notes say German, French and Marathi were added in one version and six more languages in an earlier one1. The notes do not say whether a language covers the audio, the screens or the written content.

So we do not claim Malay, Chinese, Tamil or any other audio. We also do not say it is missing. It is unknown from our sources.

How do I test the audio language myself?

A short test on your own phone answers it better than any list. Our guide on checking audio, interface and content languages separately goes through the three layers one at a time.

Try this: a two-minute listening test

Do this in a quiet corner, with headphones if the house is noisy.

  1. Open the app and look for a language option in its settings.
  2. Start the meditation and listen for about thirty seconds.
  3. Ask: can I follow the words without effort?
  4. If yes, carry on. If you strain, stop and close the app.
  5. Note your result, so you do not have to test again next month.

What if the voice is not in my language?

You have a clear answer, and nothing is lost. Choose one of these:

  • Our pages in your own language, which explain the practice in your own words.
  • The free meditation timer, which works in English, Malay, Chinese, Tamil, Thai and Vietnamese with no sign-in.
  • A few minutes of quiet breathing, using our breathing pacer.
  • A teacher or class you can follow in your own language, listed in our guide to meditation classes in Malaysia.

Can I ask the provider about my language?

Yes. Write to the contact shown on the provider’s own pages. We have no way to tell you whether or when a language will be added, and we will not promise it.

What if English is a third language for my parent?

Try it together once. If your parent loses the thread, stop kindly and switch to the timer or a quiet breathing minute. Our guides on accessibility, language access and digital confidence have more ideas for helping a relative.

If using a screen to relax makes you feel more wound up, put the phone down. If anything you try brings up distress, dizziness or painful memories, it is fine to stop, and our support page shows where to start.

Fitting this into a real day

Some of us switch between languages through the day without noticing: Malay at the office, Cantonese or Tamil at home, English on the phone. A practice works best in the language your body relaxes in, so choose by how it feels and not by how modern it looks.

If your day is full, use the timer for two minutes now and leave the app question for the weekend. Nothing is lost by waiting.

Where to go next

See what the official sources describe for the overall picture, or go back to our Miracle of Mind guides. Our guide on practical options without an app is complete on its own.

If the voice suits you, Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation in the Miracle of Mind app is optional, and your own-language pages here stay as they are.

Common questions

Is Malay, Chinese or Tamil audio confirmed in the app?

Not in the sources we read. The Malaysian App Store listing shows English in its languages field, and version notes name some added languages. We do not infer audio from a website being translated, so test on your own phone.

Can I follow English audio if it is my third language?

Some people can, and some find it tiring. A short try tells you quickly. If you lose the thread or feel tense, stop. It is not a test of your English.

Can I ask the provider to add my language?

You can write to the provider using the contact on its own pages. We cannot promise a reply or a change. It does no harm to ask.

What can I use instead?

Our pages in Malay, Chinese, Tamil, Thai and Vietnamese explain the practice in your own words, and the meditation timer works in the same languages with no sign-in. A few quiet breaths on a chair is also a full practice.
